Balancing of the spindle shaft and cup are critical in the performance and service life of the turbine. A balanced and true air-bearing spindle can operate at speeds of 50,000 rpm continuously and indefinitely. All turbines are checked for proper balance before leaving our facility. If you suspect any vibration in your turbine you may send it to us for balancing only.
Balancing Techniques
There are several effective balancing techniques on the market. One should select a service that includes:
- State of the art software including Program Resonance and Deflection Calculator
- Calculates: Resonant frequencies; deflection, moment, shear and slope
- Displays mode shapes, moment, shear, slope and deflection
- Stored yield strength for various materials
- Permits variable loading: static and dynamic forces, torques and distributed loads
- Models objects with varying cross-sections, materials and supports
- Proposed fixes can be modeled to determine effectiveness before repairs are made.
